
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained by the women's soccer national team, along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan, who was 22 at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
