Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born July 12, 1988[1]. She is a Canadian actress and singer. O'Neil was the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's season 3 finale, took home the trophy in 2005. O'Neil is known for her performances on Syfy's science-fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was popular for her character in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. She was voted among the bottom two and three of the finals. The judges were shocked and asked viewers to choose Melissa as the most vocal contestant. O'Neil's performances were always praised and O'Neil was not relegated to the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a chance to win the whole thing". O'Neil and Rex went on to make it to the second round of the contest on September 7 on the 7th of September in 2005. After yet another stunning performances, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away long live Queen". During the grand finale results presentation on September 14 on the 14th of September, 2005, O'Neil defeated Goudie to be named the third Canadian Idol, as well as being the first female winner, as well as (at 17) the youngest contestant in the show's history.
